The Beesley Animal Foundation started its Outreach Program in August of 2015. The first visit was to Hippie Hill in Cannon County. These outings typically take place the first Friday of each month. The goal is to help the underserved, primarily senior citizens and homeless individuals throughout our community. Since we started, staff and volunteers have been to bridges, motels, St. Clair Senior Center, and other places throughout Middle Tennessee vaccinating cats and dogs. We returned to Hippie Hill one year later on July 29, 2016. We vaccinated new cats and dogs and re-vaccinated some while talking with the owners about their pets.
The goal of the Beesley Animal Foundation is to promote animal welfare. We are happy to be able to go outside the walls of the Beesley Animal Clinic to help those in need. Along with vaccinations and discussing responsible pet care, we are taking cat and dog food to those we serve. We appreciate all the help that Scott Walker of WGNS has lent to us as we continue this Outreach Program.
Through our Outreach Program, we currently assist 10 agencies throughout Rutherford and Cannon counties with pet food to be distributed along with their human food programs. As the program grows, we are asking for individuals and groups to help donate food. We are accepting unopened and unexpired cat and dog food, wet or dry, to give to those in need. We will be delivering food to those in need as it is available. If you would like to help, please drop off donations at the Beesley Animal Clinic (2215 Keeneland Commercial Blvd, Murfreesboro, 37127) Monday -Thursday from 10am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-5:00pm. If you have questions about this or any Beesley Animal Foundation program, please call us at 615-217-1030.
